Building Division

The Middletown Building Department enforces all State of CT Building Codes in accordance with the plans and specifications submitted with your application. The department inspects all phases of construction, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and structural installations.

CONTRACTORS - WE WILL NOT REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL WE RECIEVE A COPY OF YOUR CONTRACTORS LICENSE ALONG WITH A CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE W/ WORKERS COMP & THE CHECK FOR YOUR PERMIT FEE.

HOMEOWNERS - IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR THE PERMIT AND DOING THE WORK YOURSELF YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT A  NOTARIZED 7B FORM (SEE BELOW) ALONG WITH YOUR CHECK FOR YOUR PERMIT FEE.  IF YOU HIRED A CONTRACTOR BUT ARE APPLYING FOR THE PERMIT FOR THEM, A 7A FORM (SEE BELOW) IS REQUIRED ALONG WITH THE CHECK FOR YOUR PERMIT FEE.

**IF YOUR PROPOSED WORK REQUIRES PLANS YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE  DRAWINGS TO US ALONG WITH OTHER REQUIRED PAPERWORK AND YOUR PAYMENT BEFORE WE REVIEW ANY INFORMATION**
