Middletown Recycling Center
Recyclables and Bulk Waste can be brought to the Middletown Recycling Center located on the corner of Johnson Street and North Main Street. The City does not accept regular household trash at the Recycling Center. Residents and businesses must have trash collected at their curb.
Only Middletown tax payers can use the Recycling Center.

Only waste generated in Middletown is allowed at the Recycling Center. Starting July 1, 2023 residents must obtain a sticker to use the recycling center. Stickers can be obtained at the Department of Public Works in City Hall (Room 210), Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or by filling out this on line form and the sticker will be mailed to you.
Recycling Center Stickers will also be available at these events. You must show your vehicle registration to obtain a recycling center sticker.

Starting July 1, 2023 any business that transports any type of waste material must register with the City and if they want to use the Recycling Center, they must obtain a license to use the Recycling Center. Full details for waste transporters is available here.

The Middletown Recycling Center does not accept materials such as asphalt, concrete or clean fill. This material is accepted at: Butler Construction, Portland CT, 860-342-3880.
Starting April 1, 2023, the Middletown Recycling Center will only accept two tons of materials per load from Middletown properties. Loads larger than two tons can be brought to a private facility such as:
