Electronics Recycling Information

The State of Connecticut has banned the disposal of certain household electronics   to trash to energy plants and landfills. City residents can now recycle household electronics at no charge at the City Recycling Center.

Acceptable items include:

  • Cell Phones
  • Computers
  • Copiers
  • Digital Cameras
  • Fax Machines
  • iPods
  • Microwaves
  • Modems
  • Monitors
  • PDAs
  • Printers
  • Speakers
  • Stereo and Radio Equipment
  • Telephones
  • Televisions
  • Typewriters
  • VCRs and DVD Players

Proving Residence

Middletown residents must obtain a resident pass to enter the recycling center.  These can be obtained on line or at the Department of Public Works in City Hall.   You must show proof of residency and know your vehicle plate number.
