Eckersley-Hall Senior Center & Municipal Building
In 2011 the City of Middletown acquired 61 Durant Street, known as the Saint Sebastian School. The site is being converted to a Senior Center and Municipal Building, known as Eckersley-Hall, names after two Middletown residents who died in World War I.

Hiking & Biking Trails
The City is working to improve access to the City's open space and recreational amenities through the creation or improvements hiking and bike trails.

Maromas Open Space Land Use Study

Middletown Farm Viability Study
In 2007, the received a grant to conduct a study to determine ways to improve the viability of agriculture and farming in Middletown. Middletown believes that it is important to support this important local segment of our City.

Miller & Bridge Street
In 1999 the Common Council determined that the Miller Street and Bridge Street neighborhood was no longer viable and therefore initiate a project to relocate the residents and demolish the existing buildings.

North End Redevelopment
In the past decade the North End has seen a significant decline in the quality of housing and population. The City along with two developers are seeking to improve housing and attract new residents to the downtown.

Plan of Development Update
The current Plan of Development was adopted in 1990 and it has served the City well. However Middletown has changes since its adoption and the Planning and Zoning Commission is under going a review to update and amend the existing plan of development to meet the needs and challenges of the next decade.
