Middletown Public Works Holiday Service Alert

The Middletown Public Works Department has announced the Martin Luther King Jr holiday schedule for the Middletown Recycling and the Sanitation District Collection. 
 
Recycling Center
The Middletown Recycling Center will be closed Monday, January 17, 2022 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day.    It will be open Saturday, January 15, from 7:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
 
Sanitation District
The Sanitation District will not be collecting trash and recycling on Monday, January 17.   Both trash and recycling will be picked up for Monday and Tuesday customers on Tuesday morning, January 18. Carts should be put out Monday evening.  

For Middletown restaurants participating in the food waste collection program, food waste collection ONLY will be on schedule for Monday.  
 
The Sanitation District will only pick up the items that fit in the cart.  Excess recyclables, including large corrugated boxes, can be brought to the Recycling Center at no charge.   Residential food waste can also be segregated and brought to the Recycling Center or 675 Randolph Road at no charge.  Food waste must be loose or in BPI certified compostable bags or paper bags.  No plastic bags or containers.
