Exploring the ART of SIGN 

A Three-Part Workshop Series for Artists & Educators

Join us for an immersive and interactive workshop series designed for teaching artists, educators, and creative professionals who want to explore the power of nonverbal communication, sign language, and the arts. This series will provide innovative tools to engage with nonverbal communities, incorporating movement, visual storytelling, and artistic expression.

What to Expect:

 

Monday, May 5th Session 1: The Art of Gesture & Expression

· Understand the fundamentals of nonverbal communication.

· Learn how ASL handshapes and symbols can inspire visual and performing arts.

· Engage in silent storytelling and creative expression exercise.

 

Monday, May 19th Session 2: Movement, Rhythm & Embodied Communication

· Explore how gesture, rhythm, and movement enhance artistic collaboration.

· Participate in interactive activities blending dance, theater, and sign language.

· Discover ways to communicate through face and body.

 

Monday, June 2 Session 3: Visual Language & Artistic Accessibility

· Use ASL symbols and gestures as inspiration for visual and tactile art.

· Explore integrating sign language into paintings, sculptures, and multimedia works.

· Loud Silence: tap into multiple ways of sharing nonverbal expression together as a class.
