Middletown Commission on the Arts
Mosaics On Main

Hello Community Members and Mosaic Lovers,

First of all, many thanks to those who attended (or expressed interest in) the community mosaic workshop earlier this month at the Free Center. The resulting multi-panel glacier mosaic will be displayed publicly later this year, and if you’re on this mailing list and/or following us on Facebook or Instagram, you’ll be in the loop for that and all the other events and exhibitions that are lined up in the months ahead.

And speaking of events and exhibitions, the main purpose of this email is to extend an invitation to join us this Thursday, May 2, at 6pm in front of 428 Main Street in Middletown. There we will be displaying Pierre Sylvain's recently-completed mosaics representing the Beman family and African American spiritual life alongside his Frederick Douglass mosaic which you may have already seen. There will be remarks at 6:15 (and a rain date of May 3) and we look forward to seeing some of you there to bask in this gorgeous new work and chat with others interested in the project.

Best,

Kate Ten Eyck

Artistic Director, Mosaics on Main
