Holiday Service Alert for
Middletown Recycling Center and Sanitation District 

The Middletown Public Works Department has announced the holiday schedule for the Middletown Recycling and the Sanitation District Collection for President’s Day, Feb. 21, 2022. 
 
Recycling Center
The Middletown Recycling Center will be open on Saturday, February 19, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m and closed on Monday, February 21, 2022.  
 
Sanitation District
The Sanitation District will not be collecting trash or recycling on Monday, February 21, 2022.  Both trash and recycling will be picked up for Monday and Tuesday customers on Tuesday morning. Carts should be put out Monday evening.

The Sanitation District will only pick up the items that fit in the cart. Excess recyclables, including large corrugated boxes, can be brought to the Recycling Center at no charge.

Food waste can also be separated and brought to the Recycling Center or 675 Randolph Road at no charge. Food waste must be loose or in BPI certified compostable bags or paper bags. No plastic bags or containers.

The Middletown Recycling Center is located at 185 Johnson Street and normal operating hours are daily 7 am – 2:45 pm and the first and third Saturday of the month, 7 am – 11:45 am. 

Restaurant Food Service Collection
Blue Earth Compost will be operating normal hours on Monday, February 21.  Restaurants separating food scraps, should put those carts out on the regular schedule.  

City Hall offices will be closed on Monday, February 21st.
