Dear Middletown Recyclers,
Recycling Center Thanksgiving Hours
The Middletown Recycling Center will be closed Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving. It will be open Friday, November 27, 7:00 a.m. - 2:45 a.m. and Saturday, November 28, 7:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Waste Reduction Tip: Turkey carcasses, pumpkins and food waste can be brought to the Recycling Center at no charge for composting and anaerobic digestion. Trash tonnage increases by 25% during the holidays. Let's try to keep that number down!
Sanitation District Thanksgiving Schedule
The Sanitation District will not be operating on Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving. Crews will be collecting both Thursday and Friday routes on Friday, November 27th.
Brush Pick Up
Public Works crews are continuing to circulate through the City picking up brush from tropical storm Isaias. When they have been on every street, they will go back to houses that put brush out after their first run through. It will take time and it is weather permitting, but they will eventually get there.
Leaf Collection
Public Works crews also have begun leaf pick up and are going street by street. Weather permitting, they will circulate through streets at least twice. If your leaves were not out during the first pass through, they will be back. Leaves must be raked loose to the curb or placed in brown paper bags. Leaves in plastic bags will not be picked up.
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
