Community Day Events Commencing at 1pm. Enjoy the event with these several performances and activities.

1-2:30 pm The Lost Tribe Performance, Afro-funk fusion led by multi-percussionist Jocelyn Pleasant

2:45-3:30 pm Tammy Denease, Sarah Margu Interpreter a one woman stage play of the story of one of the children on the Amistad with Q&A to follow.

3:45-4:30 pm Iddrisu Saaka, Wesleyan Univ. Asst. Prof. Dance Multi arts performance that incorporates drumming, dancing and storytelling. 

4:30 pm Afro-Brazilian Dance Performance

Discovering Amistad will be offering free tours of the Amistad ship. Come by and learn from our education team about how the ship was built, the story of the Amistad Rebellion, and how we use the vessel today. Reserve your visit here!
