The Mission of the Dive Team is to provide a coordinated effort to locate and remove a submerged victim from a body of water such as a lake, river, or pond.
The Dive Team consists of twenty certified public safety divers and ten certified dive tenders spread across the department's four shifts. There are divers and tenders on duty 24/7 for rapid response and deployment. The Dive Team can respond with our personnel and equipment including our dive truck with our inflatable boat or the Marine unit docked on the Ct. River within the city or to assist our mutual aid partners if requested.
