The purpose of these envelopes is to have the driver place their insurance card, registration and driver license in it, so they can hand it to the officer during a traffic stop. On the outside of the envelope is helpful tips and instructions for both the officer and driver on how to successfully communicate with each other.
The envelops are available at the Middletown Police Department's front desk/lobby, City Hall's lobby, the Russell Library, and at all DMV Locations
The "Green Envelope" was created to enhance communication between a police officer and deaf/hard of hearing drivers.
The "Blue Envelope" was created to enhance communication between a police officer and a driver with autism spectrum disorder.
