Public Swimming Pools

The Middletown Health Department licenses all public swimming pools in the City of Middletown.  Public pools are located at condominium/apartment complexes, hotels, schools/universities, physical therapy facilities, and other recreational facilities. 

During a typical routine inspection, health department staff will check for:

• Properly functioning filtration equipment;
• Adequate disinfection and pH levels;
• Sufficient and properly working life-saving equipment and emergency phones;
• Overall general sanitation and maintenance of the pool, restroom, and changing area facilities
